Children learnt about 3R’s which are “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”. We collected a few items such as egg cartons, foil boxes, Starbucks bags, tissue rolls, and juice packets. After telling the children the importance of 3 R’s, as an application of concept, they reused and painted.

After that, we moved to our next activity, which was planting the seeds into pots made of recycled reusable juice packets. Children found this activity very interesting as they prepared boxes for sowing the seeds. Next time, they agreed to bring grapes juice packets for the activity.

Later, children were invited to plant the coriander, fenugreek, lemon, and green gram seeds.

Afterwards, I asked children to show appreciation and protection to Earth by making a heart shape logo by lying down on the ground. Children also did handprint craft for Earth Day.

Such learning helps children to become more creative, innovative, and proactive problem solvers.
