Who our German programme is for

Most families who choose it come to us for one of three reasons.
MIXED FAMILIES

One parent speaks German

Once a family moves, English quickly takes over at home. Here German has fixed times every week, with a real teacher rather than an app.
NEW TO SINGAPORE

Keeping German, adding English

Your child speaks German and is just starting English. Here both happen side by side: English all day, German in language time.
STARTING FROM ZERO

No German at home

Some families simply want their child to start German early. Beginners are welcome, and small groups mean nobody is left behind.
GERMAN AT ALPHA GREEN

Taught by a native speaker

Our German teacher is a native speaker and uses only German in lessons. Groups are small, and every level is welcome, from first words to native speakers.

English is the everyday language of the school. Children who don't speak English yet get support through our English Language Support programme.
Russian and Mandarin are also taught here, by native speakers.

Heading to a German or international school later?

Many of our families move on to a German or international school when primary starts. Until then, our job is to keep German a living language rather than a school subject, and to make sure English is already comfortable.

Our hours are also longer than most international schools, which is often why working parents spend the preschool years here.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a German kindergarten?

Not quite. English is our everyday language, and German has fixed times each week with a native-speaking teacher. Many German-speaking families choose exactly this mix: German stays part of the week, and English comes naturally through the day.

My child doesn't speak German. Can they join?

Yes. Every level is welcome, from complete beginners to native speakers, and small groups mean beginners aren't left behind.

Does my child need to speak English already?

No. Children who are new to English get support through our English Language Support programme.

Which ages do you take?

18 months to 6 years, from Playgroup to Kindergarten 2. Tell us your child's birth month and arrival date, and we'll tell you when a place can start.

We're still overseas. Can we see the school?

Yes, by WhatsApp video call. We walk you through the rooms and garden live, and you ask questions as we go.

How much are the fees?

We'll send you the current fees on request, through the short form or directly on WhatsApp.

Where are you?

In Upper Bukit Timah, a few minutes' walk from Hillview MRT.
